To: All Crew Members and Staff

Subject: Prohibition of Unauthorized Device Usage During Sea Operations

This notice serves as an official directive to all personnel of Mediterranean Shipping Company regarding communication and device usage during sea operations. Strict compliance is required to ensure operational safety and integrity.

  • Use of mobile devices for video recording, voice calls, photography, or video chats (e.g., FaceTime) is strictly prohibited during sea operations. These activities pose serious safety and security risks.
  • Activation or use of mobile phone networks is not permitted under any circumstances. Such activities have historically caused critical system malfunctions, equipment failures, and in extreme cases, fire hazards.
  • For essential external communications, only company-approved secure communication methods may be used. Staff must ensure all external contacts understand the importance of these protocols. Unauthorized use of communication tools, including unconventional methods, is not permitted.

Failure to adhere to this policy will result in immediate disciplinary measures. These protocols are designed to safeguard crew members, equipment, and ongoing operations at sea. Your full cooperation is expected and mandatory.
